3 fishes three silver fish, handmade by the hilltribes of thailand, strung on three strands of bright green and yellow african trade beads, with a sterling silver clasp. the strands are slightly different in length so they hang nicely.

length of beads 33"; the fish are each 3" in length. a really fun piece!

SF606162 these are three separate necklaces of african trade beads, meant to be worn together. the black and white beads are called "dogtooth"; the red beads are white hearts, also from the african trade; the yellow and white beads are indonesian. the two long necklaces have african brass heishi and bell pendants from nigeria. the center bead on the short strand is copper, also from africa; gold plated findings.

SF69 a delicate piece with two strands of small peridot and iolite rondelles, an old silver pendant, thai hilltribe silver beads and sterling silver findings. the pendant has delicate stamped designs and is somewhat worn and dented, which gives it a lovely ancient feel. i found it in the hmong night market in luang prabang, laos, but i think it could be a miao (hmong) hilltribe piece from southern china.

SF65 a buddhist amulet from laos is offset by barrel shaped green aquamarine interspersed with gold vermeil beads and gold plated findings. the stones are more green than they appear in the photo.

SF83 colonial latin america inspired this piece featuring a contemporary brass hand milagro. three twisted strands of antique african trade beads include red white hearts, pink beads, cobalt blue heishi, brass heishi and red and black striped beads. the clasp and findings on this peice are gold plated.

SF34 the calima culture comprises different groups of people who lived in the valle de cuaca, colombia for about 1500 years. they are best known for their gold work. the original of this pendant, dating from 500 b.c. to a.d. 1000, resides in the gold museum in bogota, colombia. i've offset this reproduction with synthetic blue quartz UFO-shaped beads and 24k gold vermeil cubes from bali, for a clean and modern but ancient look. the handmade box clasp is gold vermeil. a certificate of authenticity is included for the pendant.

SF79 a thai hilltribe silver spirit lock hangs from a strand of smooth blue tiger's eye beads. spirit locks are traditionally worn as counterweights to the heavy necklaces worn by hilltribe women. the beads are midnight blue in color - nearly black - and they sparkle in the light. the clasp and findings are sterling silver.

SF79 gorgeous blue kyanite tab-shaped beads are strung with khmer 24k gold vermeil spacers. this piece features a reproduction of a quimbaya pendant from the gold museum in bogota. the quimbaya lived in colombia from a.d. 300-1500 and were known for their outstanding gold work. a numbered certificate of authenticity is included for the pendant.

SF82 i call this the mayan necklace, but its components are from various cultures. the main beads are yellow turquoise from china, in a wonderful variety of colors - white, greens, pale yellow, dark greenish-grey, black... but their overall color reminds me of mayan jade. i've added some black clay beads from oaxaca, some cow bone and silver heishi from africa, and finished it with a conus shell, used as women's money in papua, new guinea. the findings are oxidized sterling silver, and the pendant hangs on black leather cord.

22" long, plus 3" pendant. the second (inside) strand starts about 4.5" from the clasp.
